Part of the Education curriculum when I was in college is taking the subject with the descriptive title Foundation of Education. Historical, Philosophical and Legal Foundations of Education book is the reference we use. It is authored by Cecilio Duka. This book explains about the historical evolution of education from the prehistoric era down to the modern educational system. It deals with the philosophical framework of education which include the different movements and schools of thought that greatly influence today's educational practices and trends. It is focused on the legal bases of the Philippine educational system. It also deals with the historical development of the Department of Education and the present curricular offerings in the elementary, secondary and tertiary levels as well as in nonformal and special education.
